|
Our program, Health and Safety Awareness for Working Teens, educates students
about workplace health and safety and promotes the prevention of illness and
injury. We are housed in the Department of Environmental and Occupational
Health Sciences at the University of Washington in Seattle. The program grew out of the School to Work (STW) Opportunities Act of 1994. The goal of that legislation is to coordinate state and local programs that address students’ career development and work preparation needs. Our staff of certified teachers works with K-12 teachers on safety and health, and develops K-12 occupational safety and health curriculum material.
